Register your interest for our Technical Working Groups
Overview
The Aviation Safety Advisory Panel (ASAP) has been established to provide the CASA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Director of Aviation Safety (DAS) with informed, objective high-level advice from the aviation community on current, emerging and potential issues that have, or may have, significant implications for aviation safety and the way CASA performs its functions.
As described in the ASAP Terms of Reference, Technical Working Groups may be established by the ASAP for referring specific issues within an industry sector, subject matter or domain for advice.
CASA may also establish Technical Working Groups to provide us with input on specific technical issues and proposals. In these cases the ASAP will be requested by CASA to endorse the Technical Working Group so there is transparency in the collaborative work conducted by CASA and Industry representatives.
Why do we seek your Expression of Interest?
CASA is establishing a register of experts that will enable industry members and relevant technical experts to provide the ASAP and CASA with input on specific technical issues and proposals.
Diversity of thought is important and we encourage anyone with relevant skills, experience and qualifications to apply. We especially seek nominations from those that have not yet had the opportunity to contribute in setting the direction of aviation safety in Australia.
Why your views matter
In October 2017, we invited people to register their interest for our technical working groups by completing an online questionnaire. Over 400 responses were received.
The ASAP now wishes to build on that large pool of experts by enabling people that missed the initial EOI to also make a submission to participate.
We greatly appreciate the enthusiasm shown by so many enormously experienced individuals willing to share their knowledge and volunteer time.
