Instrument flight procedures (operational information) - Draft Advisory Circular - 91-27 v1.0
Overview
We are seeking your feedback on the proposed draft advisory circular (AC) 91-27 - Instrument flight procedures.
Instrument flight and its associated procedures have existed for many years. As they’ve become more complex, there’s now a need for one clear document that explains and provides guidance on accepted industry procedures.
The purpose of this AC is to:
- provide information on the use of instrument flight procedures in Australia
- explain the reasons for and background to industry practices for instrument flight
- clarify safety precautions to be used with instrument flight procedures.
The intended audiences for this AC are:
- pilots
- instructors and flight examiners
- air operators
- air traffic control
- any other person interacting with operations involving instrument flight procedures.
Why your views matter
We recognise the valuable contribution that community and industry consultation make to the regulatory development process. Your feedback will increase our understanding of your needs and whether the draft AC provides adequate guidance on instrument flight procedures.
As this is the first AC relating to instrument flight procedures, we have broken feedback into 3 main areas:
- Overall impression
- Key topics
- General comments or additional issues.
How to submit feedback
Please submit your comments on the draft AC through the Consultation Hub using the survey provided. If you are unable to provide feedback this way, please email us at regulatoryconsultation@casa.gov.au.
Please read the AC document before providing your feedback.
What happens next
At the end of the response period, we will:
- review all comments received
- make responses publicly available on the consultation hub (unless you request your submission remain confidential)
- publish a Summary of Consultation which summarises the feedback received and outlines any intended changes and next steps.
Feedback that improves the guidance will be incorporated into the final guidance.
