AIrworthiness Directives - older AD's directing retirement of aircraft or inspection without justification. CASA Airworthiness and Engneering Branch offering no assistance.
I have a fleet of PA32 aircraft with which AD 32/42 requires retirement or developing an inspection progam.
CASA's Airworthiness Branch assistance was to quote the AD back to me and told me that my third option was to sell the aircraft offshore, as the AD does not apply anywhere else. 'Make it someone's else problem!'
Retiring and replacing the aircraft Is a huge financial burden.
As is developing an inspection program without fatigue data, which CASA developed the AD on and refuse to provide.
We service a lot of remote small communities over long distances which can only be accessed by these type of light aircraft.
There are no new aircraft at present that can meet these requirements.
CASA initiated the AD in the 1980's, cannot justify it or be transparent with the data or offer any assistance and expect us to comply at huge financial cost.
3. Can you think of any opportunities that would improve our regulatory system for general aviation maintenance? For example, ways to reduce costs and red tape while maintaining a high safety standard. Please provide detail.

Review older AD's and release relative data that those Directives where developed on, to assist so that inspection and corrective action can be developed.
