Issues and opportunities
3. Can you think of any opportunities that would improve our regulatory system for general aviation maintenance? For example, ways to reduce costs and red tape while maintaining a high safety standard. Please provide detail.
Comments
This could be regarded as a selfish view, however I firmly believe it's much more important and valid than that. We specialise in tool control for aviation maintenance and whilst we have some advanced automated tool control systems these would be largely unfordable for smaller GA organizations. What I do believe would make tool control more effective for these operators is if legislation stated the company should provide the tooling and the government could provide tax incentives to assist. Currently each individual engineer has his own toolbox and this is very hard to control resulting in lost tools and other FOD. Company owned tools set out in dual colour foam as a minimum would be a small cost to make a massive safety improvement for general aviation.
