Please provide your comments:
I regularly see drones operated in fortitude valley in Qld. Within 3nm of the hospital heli pad and one block from the major police station. Nobody bothers stopping it, the operator knows it is wrong but he says the chances of hurting anyone are low. This needs to stop

What should be done about 'counter-drone' technology?

Provide your views on the ways in which counter-drone technologies should be managed and in what circumstances they should be used.

management/scenarios for counter-drone tech
I am a former ATC. Recently a large drone fkew across the path of an Alliance F-100 on final to rwy19. The drone was followed by police and Coast Guard on boats. We found 2 operators who used that specific type of drone and submitted the information. We were told no resources to follow tje lead, and investigation is at a stop.
There are devices that should be deployed by authorised personell such as police or Airports to protect operations.

Specify any particular aspects of counter-drone technology or its potential uses to which CASA should be devoting more attention.

CASA attention to c-d use
There are two proven products from Israel which work on disruption of the frequencies used by the drone.
If a drone is not following operational standards that an aircraft needs before taking to the air, then it stops being protected by the laws that protect operation of aircraft.

Are we doing enough of the right things?

CASA seeks your view on the way in which we are approaching regulation of RPA in Australia today and for the future.

are we doing the right things?
You need more visibility. I have entered several groups of operators, and most have changed fron cautious protection and enforcement of laws to openly flaunting breaking the laws because people want to have fun. Enter those groups, engage the admins, disseminate information and control the information.
