What should be done about 'counter-drone' technology?

Counter-drone technologies should only be managed in retricted areas or heights.

Are we doing enough of the right things?

CASA seeks your view on the way in which we are approaching regulation of RPA in Australia today and for the future.

are we doing the right things?
The sale of RPA's over the counter and online pose a risk of operators not educating themselves of the rules and regulations set out by CASA.
RPA's should only be able to be purchased from authorised outlets who comply with CASA's regulations and training procedures.

general comments
With the implementation of the relaxing of rules for under 2kg class for commercial use and people purchasing over the counter or online operators are forever flouting the laws whether they are aware of the laws or not or just ignorance. More and more incidents will happen and hopefully they do not lead to any major accidents. It hard for CASA to police the whole of Australia so I feel the laws need to be tightened up and records kept with all beign registered.
